YLW Mobile Flooring & DEsign Shop

Welcome to the THE OKV. That's something people say right? I know I have a sick hoodie from Birch Hill Studio that says it on the front so it must be real.

Did you know that Kelowna is one of North America's fastest growing communities? Fast growth means many things but it especially means $$. Living in a more expensive place means working more. It is reare to find a household now where they don't need two incomes to keep food on their families table. Which means, when the HECK do you have time to plan out a renovation, select flooring, hire trades and finalize plans. This is where we come in!

Introducing Kelowna's newest flooring and design store - all from the comfort of your own home.

No no, its not an online store (although that is coming later this year so stay tuned!). Our new mobile service will bring the selections room to you. Here's how it works:

1. Call, email or DM us with an inquiry for the mobile service.
2. We will schedule an over the phone or facetime/skype short consultation with you where we find out what you are looking for and see if we are the right fit for you.
3. We will schedule a time to come out, measure your space and bring you samples based on our conversation.
4. Nothing you like amongst what came? Thats okay, we have a whole mobile store so we can get more, and you NEVER even have to leave your house! Whattttt.
5. We get you a quote, we finalize details and we get started!

What do we offer?

Project Design
Floorplans, 3D renderings, design packages, the works.

Flooring & Tile Installation
We have been a brick & mortar flooring store since 2001 and our head installer, Paul has been at it for over 35 years. From vinyl plank to carpet to everything in between. Whether you have a small rental house or a high end executive home, we have the abilities to work with a large array of clientele.

Home REnovations
From a small bathroom to an entire home we can take on as much or as little of the project as you'd like.

  1. Modern Farmhouse Main Floor
  2. Small Modern White & Grey Kitchen
  3. Warm wood kitchen

What products do we carry?

Flooring Materials
Focusing on Canadian owned suppliers, we have the same amount of product you can get through a traditional store. Laminate, hardwood, vinyl plank and carpet are among some of the options you can select. Don't let that intimidate you though, during our design consultation, we will help you to determine the best product for your home and lifestyle.

Floor, WAll & Decorative Tile
These days, we are doing less floor tile but the wall tile we are seeing is coming in so many different beautiful forms. From rich stone to fun patterns, there really is something for every taste. On a budget? There are options from $3/SF that would add major pizazz to any bathroom renovation!

Cabinetry, Countertops, Plumbing & Lighting
We have two different suppliers of cabinetry depesning on your taste and budget. One of our suppliers is absolutely perfect for the DIY customer or someone wanting to flip or rent a property. Think Home Depot pricing except you aren't lining a CEO's pockets, you're supporting a small business!
*We also have the opportunity to go with custom cabinets for the right client. We often find that this is unnecessary but the option is there if we need it!

We carry several countertop lines ranging from affordable laminate to luxurious granite to durable quartz. Most of which is fabricated and sourced right here in The OKV (im still trying!).

Lighting & Plumbing is something that can VERY easily be chosen from a catalogue so we come equipped with endless options, grouped by price point for you to select from! Looking fore something extra special? We will source a sample for you!

Window coverings
Celullar, roman blinds, faux wood or shutters. We have several lines that can be customized to just about any taste, style, need or budget.

Mid Century Mod Bliss
I met Sierra on Instagram in 2017. I had been following her business account for awhile and was always wowed by how real, raw and down right hilarious she was. I knew right away that I was dying to be involved in her new showoom. She knew right from day 1 that the store floors needed to be a main feature.

Design Inspo: Black and white with tons of primary colour pops

Product used: Black and white 2.5mm glue down vinyl plank from one of our favourite Canadian suppliers.

Biggest Hurdle: Matching this pattern up and ensuring it stayed straight through the huge main showroom and back room. I hate to toot our own horn but this was not a task for an average installer.

Favourite Part: The way the thick black stripes offset all the white in the space as well as all the windows.

This wonderful couple approached us after doing a small flooring project for them. They were looking to add in a small kitchenette for the university level daughter who would be taking over the basement suite. However, they hadn't found anyone who could do the entire project, for a decent price, on a tight timeline. We were confident it would work.

Design Inspo:  Luxe big city living, black and white with gold accents

Renovation Plan:  Add new cabinets (IKEA ftw!), marble countertops, backsplash, fridge, open shelving and new sink.

Biggest Hurdle: Trying to fit an entirely functioning kitchenette into an incredibly small space. The homeowner also has a very high end taste so getting that look while keeping the budget in check was so important.

Favourite PArt:  The black baskplash with the floating shleves just made our wildest dreams come true.

I would love to say that we designed this epic renovation but really we were there as a sounding board, to source materials and to try to keep the homeowner on their own budget. Right from the get go, she knew exactly what she wanted. And it had to balance their midcentury vibe in a very traditional farmhouse property.

Design Inspo: Black, white and wood, clean lines. NO RUSTIC ELEMENTS. She was determined to have a house that would not pass the "Joanna Gaines" test.

Renovation Plan: Black glossy cabinets, white backsplash, liveedge wood counter, TONS of storage space and splashes of gold.

Biggest Hurdle: Finding a way to pair the couple's design taste with the character of the actual home.

Favourite Part: The kitchen island, without a doubt turned out beyond our wildest dreams (thank you @thedustylumberco).
